Creating Aerial Maps via Google Earth Pro

Google Earth Pro is now accessible for everyone to use free of charge! Google Earth Pro offers many functions for landowners, sellers, and buyers to virtually view the layout of their property in a 360 degree, 3D view.

Using Pro allows you to analyze your property by measuring distances and areas using the line, path, and circle measurement tools available on the toolbar at the top of the page. Another tool I found to be very interesting is the day/night feature. Let’s say you plan to build a house on a large piece of property and would like to find the prime location to get ample sunlight in the morning and shade in the afternoon. The day/night tool, located on the toolbar at the top of the page, allows you to view sunlight and shaded areas at any time throughout the day; by moving the scale bar below the toolbar, you can set it to any hour.

Exploring all the different perimeters of your property is available by using the toggle wheel and zoom in/out features located on the top right of the page. Once you get the view you wish to share with others or keep for yourself, you can create a printable version of the map you created by clicking the print button on the toolbar. It will come up in different format to edit the legend and map title. You can save the map as a PDF or print to share your ideas and virtual layout of the property!
